For this project I used a different barbie image that I had already created, because I thought it represented the whole "barbie" concept better than a dinosaur kpop star. There's a black line in the middle of the image that separates the natural side of her face from the photoshopped side of her face. The photoshopped side is praised, whereas her natural self is looked down upon. The small sub-topics are useless gossip about celebrities
THIS WAS SUCH A CUTE PROJECT OK. I took an image of hello kitty and photoshopped it so that her image was themed around a 'blue' look. I had to add more to her to fit the minimum of 20 requirement, I personally thought it looked better when there were less items. It didn't look as messy. Her nose is a blueberry, her eyes are 2 different kinds of jelly beans (I dodged the eyes so that they would have light reflections), her face is a galaxy, her ears are butterfly wings, her bow is a flower, there's a pearl in the center of the bow, she wears mittens on her hands, she has gummies for her shirt, the ocean water is her undershirt, and she has gel pills for her feel. The cutest feature I think is the light saber whiskers. I was proud of those. I tried to keep it all within the outline of the original hello kitty picture.
For this project, I photoshopped my SNSD bias Sunny, and turned her into a dragon from dragon tales. I thought it would be really funny because Sunny is typically a goofy person, she is known as SNSD's 'energy pill'. Her outfit for Hoot was all one color so I thought that would be the best to use because dragons are supposed to be one color. I think. Anyways, in terms of the 'do I feel pressured by society to look a certain way', no I don't. I used to in like middle school, but now it's of very low importance to me (hence the blue/red/pink hair). (By the way I realize her feet look weird I tried to make them big and it just ugh nevermind).
For this project, there was a LOT of color editing involved, and a lot of transformations. The house is a lychee fruit, and a water fairy lives inside. The sun shines from the upper right corner, so I tried to use burn and dodge to make everything seem realistic. The windows don't look great, I messed up the warping of them. I'm really glad I was able to find the clip art of the fairy, because she looks really cute sitting atop the house. The door looks elven, which I think is really cool. I like the color scheme, and how everything matches the colors of the background.
I chose a quite famous stop motion animator, who has millions of views on YouTube. His name is Adam Pesapane, commonly known as PES. He has a B.A. in English Literature, and studied at the University of Virginia. He has been nominated for the Academy Award of Best Animated Short Film, which was the shortest film to ever be nominated for an Academy Award. His first stop motion animation was a film called Roof Sex (2001), which took 20 days to complete even though it was only a minute in length. It won numerous awards, and since then, he has created many more successful stop motion videos that have very positive feedback. Not only is PES an animator, he also is a director. He has directed several different commercials, and is currently working on two feature films known as Garbage Pail Kids, and Lost & Found. I chose PES because of not only his success as an animator, but his diverse accomplishments. He is a YouTube star, a successful animator, and a director of not only animations, but feature films, commercials, and more. He demonstrates incredible creativity, and it shows through his projects. |
